Music plays an important part in the worship of all the Team Churches.
At Oakham, the main Sunday services are led by the Choir, which usually sings an anthem at both the morning Commuion service and at Evensong (except during holiday times - usually the last Sunday in July, the first four Sundays in August and the Sundays following Christmas and Easter). On the third Sunday of the month, Evensong is fully choral, with settings of the canticles and responses, and the morning Family Service is led by the Music Group rather than the Choir.
Whissendine and Market Overton churches also have a small choir which leads the main services, and occasionally sing an anthem.
For Team Services, the choirs combine forces under the name of Laudamus - usually for Team Eucharists or other services on the fifth Sunday when it occurs, and on Ash Wednesday, Ascension Day and other festivals. |
